Marie and Thibault married at the Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés, and Marie trusted me with both her civil ceremony and the wedding day itself. That means something. It also meant getting to know a bride twice over, which is a privilege I don’t often get.

Theirs was an elegant wedding that was also deeply warm. Nothing stiff, nothing performed. The complicity between them was what everyone noticed, the kind that makes a whole room relax.

And there is a light in Marie that no makeup put there. My job was mostly to stay out of its way. If I’m honest, she was my favourite bride of the season, and I say that knowing how many beautiful mornings this season gave me.
