Wedding Makeup for Your Bridal Party: How It Actually Works

You're not getting ready alone. Here's what that means practically, so your morning stays calm.

How long each person takes

Around forty minutes for each guest, and an hour for you. Those minutes add up quickly, which is why the maths matters more than most brides expect.

When one artist is enough

Up to five or six faces, I work alone, and everyone is ready without rushing. Beyond that, the timings start to tighten against your ceremony hour.

When I bring a second artist

From around seven faces, or whenever your ceremony is early, a second artist works alongside me. It isn't about speed, it's about nobody being hurried, you least of all.

The order of the morning

Your guests go first, you go last. Your makeup should be the freshest thing in the room when you walk out, not something applied four hours earlier. The timings are built backwards from your ceremony.

A word on the room

Natural light near a window, a table, and space for everyone to sit and have coffee. That's genuinely all it takes.

A good morning isn't a fast one. It's one where nobody is watching the clock.

Beauty is actually the easy part.
